Many people come to counselling feeling overwhelmed and stuck in patterns that no longer serve them. You may be carrying the unbearable, cumbersome effects of past trauma or emotional wounds. These experiences often show up as anxiety, depression, social withdrawal, difficulty regulating emotions, or chronic pain & illness. These are not failures, but adaptive responses to earlier stress. Depending on your preference, we can gently explore what’s holding you back and support meaningful, sustainable change, or we can skip the talk therapy and move straight into trauma processing through EMDR & Flash.

Regardless of the approach you choose, we will work at a pace that feels safe and supportive to you. My practice is rooted in an integrated, science-informed understanding of well-being. Rather than focusing on symptoms alone, I view you as a whole person shaped by lived experience, relationships, resilience, and strengths.

EMDR IN A NUTSHELL

EMDR therapy is a stress-reducing, evidence-based approach that combines established trauma interventions with bilateral sensory stimulation (e.g., eye movements, audio, or tapping) until distressing memories no longer have that activation in the present. While most commonly known for addressing trauma, EMDR can also be applied to other presenting issues, such as anxiety, depression, chronic pain, grief, and negative self-concept.

FLASH IN A NUTSHELL

Flash is a trauma-processing approach that works in a surprisingly gentle way. Instead of focusing directly on a painful memory, you spend most of the session focused on something that brings a sense of ease, calm, or enjoyment. The traumatic memory is only touched on very briefly, for a fraction of a second at a time. By repeatedly pairing these very small “glimpses” of the memory with a felt sense of safety, the nervous system begins to learn that the memory no longer signals danger and naturally loses its intensity, leading to a reduction of symptoms.
